Presentation:
A Case Study: Navigating the Design Process with Low-Carbon Concrete Design Intent. The presentation will describe the role during the Design Phase of the Architect, Engineer and Construction Manager in a project with low-carbon concrete design intent. While becoming familiar with the benefits of performing pre-bid concrete slab mockups for low carbon concrete design intent as part of quality assurance.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand and become familiar with the required benchmarks to include in specifications for mix designs, finishing, and polishing.
- Learn about internally cured concrete (ICC) with nano modified cements (NMC) and the cost saving opportunities in low-carbon concrete.
- Understand the benefits of wet polishing as part of a nano-modified cement admixture approach to concrete mix design as it applies to durability, aesthetics, and slip and fall (COF).
- Learn how to review cost saving opportunities that a typical Contractor will miss.
