Hello again everyone, is it already November?
Yes it is…and exciting times continue here at CSINext!
Here in the United States, we are at the beginning of the holiday season, and it all starts November 24th when we celebrate Thanksgiving. Way back in the 1600’s, this traditional gathering, started by early colonists, celebrates life’s blessings. It is always a time of gatherings, celebration, and indulging in way too much pumpkin pie – but nonetheless it kicks off one of the most joyous times of the year. So, this month, we here at CSINext celebrate you…our Chapter Members. Without you and your support of not only CSI and CSINext, none of what we share here would be possible. May you and your families have a joyous and safe start to the holiday season wherever you may be!
On the program front - November 10th we will learn about “Area Separation Walls” from Chapter sponsor National Gypsum at 12Noon EST. In December, making sure those stockings are hung with care we will be learning about just that, with Chapter sponsor the Architectural Woodworking Institute’s AWI Standard 200 Care & Storage Standard. And starting off 2023 will be a topic on exterior architectural finishes from Sun Controls of Minnesota & Elite Security Glazing. Attendance is free and you can sign up on the CSINext webpage!
Have a topic you would like to learn about or know someone who would like to present a program for the Chapter? Reach out a Board member and let them know and we will be happy to jump in and help!
Our CSINext presence continues to grow, within the last month the CSINext LinkedIn group has really grown from its resurrection October. In addition to the website, it has been a great way to communicate with you. Not in the group yet? You can join with a LinkedIn profile here: https://www.linkedin.com/groups/14133706/.
Due to an unforeseen circumstance the CDT Bootcamp for October had to be rescheduled, but we are happy to announce it has been rescheduled for Saturday November 19th, 2022. Dean Bortz, FCSI and Professor of Construction Management, with Columbus State Community College in Columbus, OH will offer the CDT Bootcamp starting at 9am EST. Proceeds from the bootcamp session go to fund student scholarships and outreach. Dean has been offering this preparation course for several years and we are happy to lend a helping hand to a CSI friend (and Fellow) when in need. It is a great way to prepare for the certification exam, so check out the CSINext webpage for information how to sign up!
Interested in starting a topic of discussion or getting to know your other Chapter members? Check out the discussion board on CSINext, the current list of blogs, or ask to start a blog of your own…someone is always talking about something! And we are always looking for volunteers to help with Chapter committees and such so if you are interested in becoming involved a little deeper with the goings on of CSINext please reach out to a Board member and we will be happy to chat with you.
And again…. THANK YOU for making CSINext your Home Chapter!!!!
Till next time,
Mark
