AND THAT BALL IS OUTTA HERE!
Hello everyone, Spring as arrived, baseball season is underway, and to borrow a cliché’ from former Cincinnati Reds great and Hall of Fame announcer Joe Nuxhall we here at CSINext are “rounding third and heading for home.”
That is right folks CSINext is getting ready to slide “Charlie Hustle” style, headfirst into the last quarter of the CSI fiscal. And what a trip around the bases it has been this year! We have really "hit it outta the park" as they say!
As we move into the last quarter of this year I start to look back at what has been accomplished since the CSINext Board of Directors sat down in July 2022 and planted the seeds for the 2023/2024 year with hopes those “seeds” (plans really) would come to fruition. And boy have they ever.
CSINext continues to retain members and add new ones every month. If you visit the chapter webpage and the CSINext LinkedIn Group you see we are adding members every month. And what a vast area our members cover: 13 different countries and territories, 7 Canadian Provinces, 22 different states in the US, and 4 continents. Is that a “WOW” factor or what?
Last month, Dean Bortz, was appointed the CSINext Certification & Academic Affairs Committee Chair. You may remember Dean from last fall when he conducted the CDT Bootcamp prep session. And he is doing it again in just a few short weeks on April 29th for the Spring 2023 CSI exam window. Check out the signup link on the website if you are interested in preparing for your CDT Exam!
Monthly programs – just wow. You have showed up in force this year for monthly programs and continuing education sessions. I am amazed at the attendance we get and the quality of the topics we have covered. Thanks to each one of you for your attendance and your engaging questions – member involvement is what truly makes these monthly meetings an enormous success. And by the way if you are interested in speaking on a topic, or if you know someone who may be interested, please reach out to a Chapter Board member and we would be happy help get that set up!
Sponsors. Our amazing sponsors continue to support and believe in the value CSINext provides its members. The continued involvement of these folks is the reason CSINext is what it is today. Sponsors at CSINext are not just a name a name or link on a webpage, they are an integral part of the CSINext family and without them none of this would be possible. Tip of the hat to you folks! Thank you Architectural Woodwork Institute, National Gypsum, Northern Facades, KM Architectural Consultants, Daniel Hargreaves, and ATAS – your support and guidance continues to further develop and move this chapter into the future.
Is anyone going to the CSI Great Lakes Region Conference April 20-22 in Cleveland, OH? If you are, CSINext will be there as well. Yours truly will be presenting on “Gamification in Construction” on Friday April 20th at 9:30am. Hope to see you there!
As I write this, the Cincinnati Reds are on a current hot streak with 3 wins in a row (Scary!). And if something is hot it can sometimes catch fire. So, join us on April 13th at 12Noon EST US to hear about “Firestopping Requirements in the IBC” as we will be joined my Mike Crall of Specified Technologies Incorporated. I am sure it will be a home run! Sign up on the CSINext website.
And with that folks, I am going step outside and enjoy this spring sunshine we are getting here in the Midwest!
Till next time,
When you subscribe to the blog, we will send you an e-mail when there are new updates on the site so you wouldn't miss them.
It's been so positive to be a member of CSINext. Lots of good programming. Your Blog continues to be regular and entertaining. Dean's Boot Camp has been a great addition to the chapter offerings.
Great Leadership this year!
